A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE GOES A LONG WAY.
A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE GOES A LONG WAY.
We made Hobbies to help people reduce (or replace) booze with stuff that doesn't cloud your mind, bloat your body, and leave you feeling like crap the next day. Learn more below.
We get this question a lot, especially after the government’s recent move to restrict certain hemp products. But yes, our products remain fully compliant under the 2018 Farm Bill, and every batch is third-party lab tested to verify safety and legality. We stay up-to-date on every regulatory change so you can enjoy hemp-derived ingredients and kava with confidence.
HEMP 101
It means the hemp extract includes everything from the plant—CBD, a tiny bit of THC (under 0.3% by dry weight), plus other natural compounds. Together, they work better than CBD alone thanks to the “entourage effect.” (Yes, it’s really called that.)
Hemp and marijuana are cousins. Marijuana (aka weed, pot, grass, or the devil’s lettuce) has more THC and gets you stoney baloney. Hemp has way less THC—just enough for a mild buzz, and it's federally legal to boot.
Most people feel great, especially at low doses. But everyone’s different! We recommend starting slow and seeing how your body reacts.
KAVA 101
Kava is a root from the South Pacific that’s been used for centuries to promote relaxation and social connection.
Most people describe a calm, relaxed, and slightly uplifted feeling—like your mind slows down but you stay clear and present.
Setting is important with kava. Kava is best enjoyed when you're ready to kick back and relax. Taking it in crowded, hectic, or chaotic settings just ain't the vibe.
Kava is bitter. Try as we might, our gummies will always have some of that trademark kava bitterness (but it shouldn't linger in your mouth long). Like coffee, it's an acquired taste you'll start to associate with relaxation and a good time.
Some kava users experience a phenomenon called "reverse tolerance", which means they feel very little or nothing at all the first few times they use it, but then begin to feel the effects in a more pronounced way as their body gets used to processing the kava.
There are enough active kavalactones in our gummies to feel something noticeable (they're potent!), so don't go slamming a bunch gummies if you don't feel something the very first time. Be patient and always consult with your doctor before trying a new drug.
Not recommended. Caffeine is a stimulant, while kava is a relaxant and a central nervous system depressant. The mixture may lead to either an increased feeling of energy or jitters, and may diminish the intended effects of each substance.
No. Do not mix kava with booze. Both are processed by the liver, and the increase of liver toxicity rises when they are mixed. Plus, the combined effects just feel unpleasant.
Unlike alcohol, kava won’t leave you foggy or hungover. It relaxes your body and eases social tension without impairing judgment the same way.
Kava is grown in tropical islands like Fiji, Vanuatu, and Tonga, where it’s traditionally shared in community gatherings. (Ours is from Vanuatu.)
In moderate amounts, kava is generally well-tolerated, but it can cause drowsiness or a tingling mouth. Heavy or long-term use has been linked to liver concerns, so moderation is key. Do not use with alcohol or caffeine. Do not take on an empty stomach. Always consult with your doctor before trying new substances.
OUR MISSION
These ain't your buddy's brownies. Whether it’s THC or kava, Hobbies products are lab-tested so you know what you're getting every time. No guesswork, no panic. Just easy, guilt-free fun. (Note: always consult with a doctor before use and read all our safety information before trying anything new.)
Let’s face it—booze is fun but it makes you look and feel like crap. Our gummies are for regular people who want to have fun, take care of themselves, and make healthier choices without becoming perineum-sunning wellness freaks.
With Hobbies, you wake up clear, rested, and still proud of last night’s choices. That’s more than we can say for six Bud Heavies and a shot of Jameson.
Best thing about gummies? They’re low profile. Pop one at happy hour, on the plane, or even at dinner with the in-laws. We won’t tell.
Well, that depends.
With the Original THC Gummies, yes — but that's the point! Our gummies are deliberately low-dose (1.5mg apiece), so the effects should be fairly mild. If you're uncertain about how your body will react, try half of one and see how you feel. If you're a seasoned pro, stack a few gummies for a stronger buzz.
Carefree Kava Gummies are a bit different. They don't make you "high" so much as they make you feel relaxed and at ease. Feeling stressed or wound up at the end of a long day? Kava helps you let go of all that and just chillllll, man.
"Honk Shoo" Sleep Gummies have a very small amount of THC (1mg per serving), but aren't intended to get you high. The CBD helps you relax, the melatonin helps you get drowsy, and the ashwagandha/chamomile blend reduces cortisol and anxiety. All of them together? You'll be honk-shooin' before you know it.
Yeah, well, welcome to the future, dude.
Everything we do here is on the up-and-up. We're fully compliant, third-party lab tested, and 100% federally legal.
International? No.
Domestic? That's your call — but tread cautiously. These gummies are federally legal, but each state has its own rules and regs about what is and isn't allowed.
If you plan to travel and want to bring Hobbies with you, we recommend a sealed bag, plus screenshots of our Certificates of Analysis in case anybody starts asking questions.
No, of course not. Treat Hobbies the same way you'd treat any mind-altering substance, and stay away from the common sense no-nos you'd expect: driving, operating machinery, hanging out with people who annoy you, etc.
See our product pages for comprehensive warning labels that list all the stuff you shouldn't do.
Because it's cool.
